Breast Plastic Surgery

Breast plastic surgery is a common procedure that can help many women improve their appearance and boost confidence after having a mastectomy or lumpectomy. It can be performed alone or in combination with other reconstructive procedures. Women can have their breasts rebuilt using implants (usually saline or silicone) or autologous tissue from elsewhere in the body. 가슴필러 They can also choose to leave the nipple and areola intact, or have them rebuilt with a new nipple and areola that closely mimic the natural ones. The surgery can be done immediately after the mastectomy (called immediate reconstruction) or later, once the incisions have healed and the patient has completed her cancer therapy.

The most common form of breast augmentation is using saline or silicone implants. Both can be inserted either above or beneath the muscle. Women can select the size and shape of the implant based on their personal goals, but it is important to have the right amount of symmetry with the opposite breast.

A plastic surgeon can also use a fat-graft technique that uses adipose tissue from the body to increase breast volume and correct contour defects. This approach may be especially useful in women who have very little skin and muscle left after a mastectomy.가슴필러

Another type of breast augmentation is an expandable implant. A surgeon places a small valved implant with a saline filler in the breast, and then uses a port on the implant to inject saline into the implant to slowly expand it over several visits to the office. This process helps to smooth out asymmetry, add cleavage and increase size up to about one cup size. Once the surgeon feels the skin has stretched enough, she or he replaces the expander with a permanent implant.

Some women have smaller breasts and wish to make them larger, while others have large, pendulous breasts that cause back, shoulder and neck pain. A reduction mammoplasty, or a reduction to make the breasts smaller, involves removing tissue via liposuction and sometimes surgery. This can be combined with a lift, or with autologous tissue and implants to rebuild the breasts.

A woman who has undergone a mastectomy to treat breast cancer often decides to have her breasts rebuilt with implants and autologous tissue to create a new nipple and natural-looking areola. This is called nipple-sparing mastectomy with reconstruction.

Women who have had a mastectomy can choose to have the entire reconstruction procedure done in one day, which is referred to as a Breast in a Day (Birth in a Day). This procedure combines both a nipple-sparing partial mastectomy with a breast augmentation using implants.

The choice of implant size, type and placement (above or below the muscle) are the most important factors for breast augmentation surgery. A cosmetic surgeon will discuss your options and help you decide what is best for your frame and shape, taking into account whether you want to achieve a fuller top and a more proportional silhouette or a more voluptuous bust line. Implants are available in both saline and silicone, as well as a variety of shapes, including round and teardrop-shaped.
